5 Shows/Movies to Watch on Netflix This April
Every April, I tell myself I’ll spend less time on Netflix. And every April, I fail in about three days. There’s just something about this time of year. Maybe it’s the mix of new releases and comfort watching, or maybe it’s just me convincing myself “one more episode” is a personality trait.
So instead of letting you scroll endlessly like I usually do, I’ve put together my own list of the 5 shows/movies to watch on Netflix this April. These are the ones I’d actually press play on without overthinking it.
1. Beef: Season 2 (April 16)
I still remember watching Season 1 and thinking, “Why am I so stressed but also completely hooked?” That chaotic energy is back with Beef: Season 2, and honestly, I’m ready for more uncomfortable tension and messy human moments.
If you like shows that feel a bit too real at times, this one’s an easy yes.

2. XO, Kitty: Season 3 (April 2)
This is one of those shows I didn’t expect to enjoy as much as I did. It’s light, slightly dramatic, and very bingeable. XO, Kitty: Season 3 feels like the kind of thing you start casually, and then suddenly you’re five episodes in with snacks you didn’t plan to eat.
Perfect for those evenings when you want something easy and fun.
3. Stranger Things: Tales From ’85 (April 23)
I grew up loving Stranger Things, so this one hits differently. Stranger Things: Tales From ’85 being animated is interesting, but also kind of exciting. It feels like we’re getting more of that world without waiting years for a full season.
I’m curious, slightly nostalgic, and definitely watching this the moment it drops.
4. Apex (April 24)
This is for when you want something intense.
Apex is a survival thriller where a woman ends up in a deadly situation while trying to escape into the wilderness.
From what I’ve seen, it’s one of those movies where you keep saying, “No, don’t go there!” while still watching till the end. Perfect for a late-night watch when you don’t mind a little stress.
5. The Wiz (April 1)
I love starting the month with something a little different.
The Wiz is one of those films that feels like a throwback experience. It’s musical, a bit theatrical, and honestly just fun in a way modern films sometimes forget to be.
If you’re tired of heavy plots, this is a good reset.
Honorable Mentions
I couldn’t ignore a couple more titles that look promising this month.
Bloodhounds Season 2 (April 3): More action, more intensity, and probably a few moments that make you sit up and pay attention.
The Law According to Lidia Poët Season 3 (April 15): If you enjoy smart storytelling with a bit of historical flavour, this one is worth adding to your list.
Final Thoughts on What to Watch This April
If there’s one thing I’ve learned, it’s this. The hardest part of Netflix isn’t finding something good. It’s deciding what to watch without wasting time.
That’s exactly why I put together this list of the 5 shows/movies to watch on Netflix this April. I’ve already done the overthinking, so you don’t have to. Whether you’re in the mood for drama, something light, or just a solid movie night, April 2026 actually has a pretty good mix.
Now the only real problem is choosing which one to start first. And yes, you’ll probably still scroll a bit before deciding. We all do.
