Firestick Models Gain new Feature to Let your TV Finally Turn Off
Have you ever noticed when your Firestick goes to sleep, your tv does not turn off, instead it stays on a blank screen. This is because devices with Fire tv OS 7 or before do not have a no signal option. The HDMI port on the TV continues to read a powered up device, thus not commanding your tv to turn off. As first reported by AFTV news, the newest update to Fire TV OS devices – 7.6.7.9 brings the no signal option to Fire tv stick lite, 3rd generation and most likely the Fire tv cube 2.
Now if you head to settings > Display and sounds > Sleep behavior mode, you should be able to select the new no signal option. Not only will this save you power, but it will also save your tv from being on 24 hours a day. It is a little head scratching to me why it took so long to add in this feature, but this goes along with Amazon’s history of continuing to support previous devices.
