Quick Checks Before You Re-Pair

Before diving into a full re-pairing process, rule out these simple causes first.

  • Replace the batteries, even if they still work in another device — remotes are sensitive to low voltage.
  • Make sure nothing is blocking the space between the remote and the Firestick, since interference can weaken the Bluetooth connection.
  • Move closer to the TV and try again, since range and interference from other devices can affect the connection.
  • Unplug the Firestick for 30 seconds, plug it back in, and wait for it to fully boot before testing the remote again.

How to Re-Pair Your Firestick Remote

If the quick checks don’t fix it, re-pairing usually does.

  1. Unplug your Firestick from power, wait 30 seconds, then plug it back in.
