If you’ve cleared caches and uninstalled apps but storage is still tight, a factory reset is the most thorough option, though it erases everything and reinstalls Fire OS from scratch. You’ll find it under Settings, then My Fire TV, then Reset to Factory Defaults. Back up anything important first, since this can’t be undone, and be ready to sign back into your Amazon account and reinstall your apps afterward.

Tips to Keep Storage and Performance in Good Shape

  • Clear cache on your most-used streaming apps every couple of months rather than waiting until storage runs out.
  • Uninstall apps right after you’re done with a limited-time trial or a show you’ve finished watching.
  • Keep your Firestick’s software updated, since updates sometimes include performance and storage management improvements.

A few minutes of housekeeping every couple of months is usually all it takes to keep a Firestick running smoothly for years.
