As you install more apps, your Firestick’s home screen can get cluttered fast. Here’s how to move apps where you want them, deal with the ones you can’t remove, and clear out anything you no longer use.

Moving Apps to Reorder Your Home Screen

  1. From the home screen, highlight the app you want to move.
  2. Press and hold the Select button on your remote until a menu appears.
  3. Choose Move, then use the directional buttons to reposition the app.
  4. Press Select again to drop it in its new spot.

How to Uninstall an App

There are two ways to remove an app you no longer use.

  1. From the home screen, highlight the app, press and hold Select, then choose Uninstall.
  2. Or go to Settings, then Applications, then Manage Installed Applications, select the app, and choose Uninstall from there.

Dealing With Apps You Can’t Uninstall

Some apps that come pre-installed on your Firestick can’t be removed at all, since they’re built into the system.

  • Move the app to the very end of your app list instead, so it’s out of the way without needing to be removed.
  • Go to Settings, then Applications, then Manage Installed Applications, select the app, and turn off notifications for it if it’s sending alerts you don’t want.
  • Check the same Manage Installed Applications screen to see how much storage an app is using, even if you can’t remove it entirely.

A cleaner, better-organized home screen doesn’t just look nicer — it also makes it quicker to find what you actually watch instead of scrolling past apps you never open.
