How to Set Up a Firestick in a Second Room or on a Second TV
Adding a second Firestick for another TV in your home is quick, and you have a choice in how much you want the two devices to share.
Same Account, Shared Setup
Signing your second Firestick into the same Amazon account as your first gives it access to the same purchased content, app licenses, and Prime Video benefits. Your Appstore purchase history will show as already-owned so you can reinstall apps without paying again. Fire TV Profiles then let each person keep separate watch history and recommendations even on a shared account.
Setup Steps
- Plug the new Firestick into the second TV and connect it to Wi-Fi as usual.
- Sign in with the same Amazon email and password used on your first device.
- Reinstall any apps you want available on this TV — installed apps aren’t automatically mirrored between devices, even on the same account.
- Sign into each streaming app individually, since most services require a separate sign-in per device even when the underlying Amazon account is shared.
Keeping Devices Separate Instead
If you’d rather keep the two TVs completely independent — different household members, different content libraries — just sign the second Firestick into its own separate Amazon account instead during setup.
