How to Set Up Live TV Channels and the Program Guide on Firestick
Fire TV can pull together live channels from apps you already have installed into a single row and program guide on your home screen, so you don’t have to open a separate app just to check what’s on.
How Live TV Works on Firestick
Apps like Fire TV Channels, Freevee, Pluto TV, and certain cable or antenna apps can surface their live channels directly into Fire TV’s Live tab and program guide once you’ve installed and signed into them. You don’t need to manually add channels one by one — the guide populates automatically from whichever supported apps you have.
Setting It Up
- Install any live TV apps you plan to use from the Amazon Appstore (Fire TV Channels, Freevee, and Pluto TV are all free places to start).
- Open each app once and sign in if required, so it registers with the system-wide guide.
- From the home screen, select the Live tab in the top navigation to see your combined channel guide.
- Use the guide to browse what’s currently airing and coming up across all your connected apps at once.
Customizing Your Channel Lineup
From within the Live tab, you can usually favorite specific channels to pin them near the top and hide ones you never watch, keeping the guide focused on what you actually use.
