If you have Echo speakers or other Alexa-compatible speakers around your home, you can group your Firestick’s audio output with them so music, or even a movie’s soundtrack, plays through multiple rooms at once.

What You’ll Need

  • A Firestick and at least one Echo or Alexa-compatible speaker on the same Wi-Fi network
  • The Amazon Alexa app installed on your phone
  • All devices registered to the same Amazon account

How to Create a Multi-Room Music Group

  1. Open the Alexa app on your phone and go to Devices, then the “+” icon, then Set Up Multi-Room Music.
  2. Name the group (for example, “Living Room + Kitchen”) and select which devices belong to it, including your Firestick if it’s listed as an available audio device.
  3. Save the group. It will now show up as its own target whenever you ask Alexa to play music.

Playing Audio Through the Group

Use your Firestick’s Alexa Voice Remote to say something like “Play [song or playlist] on [group name],” and audio will play in sync across every speaker in that group, Firestick included. You can also start playback from the Alexa app and select the group as the target device.

Tips and Limitations

Multi-room groups work best for music and other audio-only content — video playback audio may not always sync cleanly across every app. All devices need a stable Wi-Fi connection, since audio sync issues are almost always caused by one speaker lagging behind on a weak signal.
