Traveling with a Firestick is a great way to get your own streaming apps and profiles on a hotel TV, but hotel and other public Wi-Fi networks often use a login page that can trip up a device without a browser.

Connecting to the Network

  1. Go to Settings, then Network, and select the hotel’s Wi-Fi network like normal.
  2. If the network has no password, it should connect right away — but you likely won’t have internet access yet until you complete the hotel’s login page.

Getting Past the Hotel Login Page

Firestick doesn’t have a built-in web browser to complete these login pages on its own. The most reliable fix is to connect a laptop or phone to the same network first, complete the hotel’s login or acceptance page there, and then your Firestick will often get internet access automatically since many hotel systems approve by device or by room rather than requiring every device to log in separately. If that doesn’t work, check whether the hotel offers a browser-based Fire TV app or ask the front desk if they can whitelist your device’s MAC address, found under Settings, then My Fire TV, then About, then Network.

An Easier Alternative

If the hotel network is giving you trouble, using your phone’s mobile hotspot as the Wi-Fi source instead skips the login page problem entirely, as long as your data plan can handle streaming.
