If you’re searching for Freevee, here’s an important update: Amazon shut down the standalone Freevee app in 2025. Its shows and movies didn’t disappear, though; they moved into Prime Video’s free, ad-supported section. Here’s how to watch that content today, without paying for a Prime membership.

What Happened to Freevee?

Freevee (formerly IMDb TV) was Amazon’s free, ad-supported streaming app. Amazon announced in late 2024 that it would fold Freevee into Prime Video, and the standalone app was fully shut down in August 2025. Freevee Originals and its movie and TV library now live inside the regular Prime Video app and website, in a free, ad-supported section.

Is It Still Free?

Yes. The former Freevee content is still free to watch, with no Prime membership required. Amazon has said explicitly that Freevee’s shows, movies, and live TV stay free inside Prime Video. You will need a free Amazon account to sign in, even though you don’t need to pay for Prime.

How to Watch Former Freevee Content on Prime Video
