Onn. streaming devices — especially the budget-friendly HD Stick and 4K Stick — ship with limited onboard storage, so it doesn’t take many apps before you hit an “insufficient storage” message. The good news: every current Onn. model has a USB port that lets you add more space in a few minutes, no tools required.

First: Free Up Space Without Adding Hardware

1. Go to Settings > Apps > See all apps and uninstall anything you no longer use.

2. For apps you’re keeping, select the app, then Clear cache to remove temporary files without losing your login or settings.

3. Check Settings > Device Preferences > Storage (or Storage & reset, depending on your model) to see exactly what’s using the most space.

Add a USB Drive for More Space

1. Get a USB flash drive (16–64GB is plenty for most people). Stick models will need a USB-C OTG adapter cable since they only have one port used for power.

2. Plug the drive into your Onn. device’s USB port.

3. Go to Settings > Device Preferences > Storage, select the USB drive when it appears, and choose how to use it.

4. Confirm the format. This erases anything already on the drive — move any files you want to keep before you start.

5. Once formatted, the device will offer to move existing apps to the new storage, or you can install new apps directly to it going forward.
