Roku Accessibility Settings
Roku offers a number of accessibility settings such as captions or voice readings to assist with any impairments. Roku offers some of the best accessibility settings out of any of the current streaming devices on the market. These can all be adjusted and turned off based on your preferences, lets walk through some of the most useful ones.
Captions Settings on Roku Devices
There are a number of caption options that can be adjusted based on your needs. Starting with the captions mode.

Captions Always On: captions always appear (when available from the service provider). When service providers use their own settings, closed captions are activated within their channels.
Captions On Replay: captions appear only after pressing Replay on your Roku remote (with content that supports instant replay)
Captions Off: Turn Captions off on all services and when using your Roku Streaming Device

Captions Preferred language: This is where you can adjust what language your captions show up as. If you need Spanish, French or others this is where you will go.

Captions Style: Based on the size, color, opacity that you require Roku allows you to easily adjust your captions to fit your style or needs.

Extra Roku Accessibility Options
Screen Reader: In my mind this is one of the extra annoying settings for most people. Anytime you move on your screen your device will vocalize what you did on your device. I have had this randomly turn on at times. However if you need it this is where you can adjust the setting.

Speech Rate: If you have screen reader on you can also adjust the speed at which the voice is speaking. This is a great option if you need a little bit more time to hear things over.

Volume: Changes the volume of the voice you hear from screen reader
Pitch: Changes the pitch of the voice talking

Shortcut: This is an important one and the reason you may always get screen reader randomly turned on.
Having this on means any time you press the star button you toggle screen reader on and off. Having this off means you don’t have to worry about it.
