one of the most annoying settings on Roku devices is the Screen Reader. This setting reads everything out loud every time you hover over anything on your device. This is a great accessibility option that can accidently be turned on and turn into an annoyance.
Why Screen Reader Keeps turning on For Roku Devices
Most people don’t know Screen Reader Can accidently be turned on by pressing the star button on your remote 4 times in a row. This option is automatically enabled via the settings menu and can also be toggled.
Go to Settings > Accessibility > Shortcut
To quickly turn off this setting just press the Star Button 4 Times on your remote
Turning Off Roku Screen Reader from Settings
You can also turn off screen reader from settings while also adjusting a few key options.
- Head to Settings from the Main Menu
- Then Click on Accessibility
- Scroll until you find screen reader.
Now you can turn off the setting and toggle it when you need to.
There are also some key settings you can adjust in this menu such as Speech rate, volume and pitch.
