As someone that speaks a lot about streaming devices and IPTV, I have a pretty good grasp on what is out there on the market. I get contacted constantly by loaded IPTV boxes and other companies to review their devices, typically I deny those request. Simply these devices are a unknown on what is legal and illegal when it comes to streaming. However this time around I thought I would give my break down of one of these devices and what I actually think of them

Is the DigiBox legal?

With promises of free IPTV forever, it is tough for consumers not to be drawn to such a device. The question of whether it is legal is not something I can personally verify. These devices do in fact offer 1000’s of channels and a great selection of video on demand. However, I have been unable to verify if DigiBox owns the licensing rights to the content. What I can say is typically consumers have little to worry about in this area.

How Does The DigiBox Work?

When you receive your device, simply plug it in, connect your WI-FI and download their Cat IPTV and Cat VOD apps. These apps do not come pre loaded, however can be quickly downloaded in a second. From there my devices was automatically registered, these apps booted up in seconds with no issue. I was pleasantly surprised with how well the channels ran. Typically I would get some sort of buffering, but received next to nothing with the DigiBox. Now, buffering will happen, it always does, but the rate at which it happens in this case is quite low. The VOD also was a great add on, a decent selection of shows and movies to choose from.

What Kind Of Content Does it Offer

In this case, as advertised, the DigiBox does offer 1000’s of channels. This includes sports, PPV events, news channels and so much more. Where this amount of channels is usually un heard of, it has become possible with this device. The Video on demand has a decent selection, although full seasons weren’t always available. It also had a number of newer movies that had recently been in theatres or still in at the point of writing this article.

The Hardware – What Kind of Device are you Getting

For the price point these specs are sub par, heck you can get a Nvidia Shield for this price. Typically this type of box would sell for close to $75 – $100 at most. However, you are not paying for the device, as much as you are paying for the service.

Price and Summary

The DigiBox D3 Plus goes for $287.99 Currently at their sale price. In comparison to other loaded IPTV boxes, this is actually a fair price. I have seen these sell at around $500 in most cases, offering the exact same features. So hats off to DigiBox for not gouging their customers.

Although this device does work as advertised, it is important to note that there is no such thing as “free forever”. IPTV services will shut down, devices will break and companies will disappear. With that being said, even if you get 1 – 2 years out of the device, it is certainly worth the price tag.
