Vikings Valhalla

Starring:Sam Corlett, Leo Suter, Frida Gustavsson – Series – Credit: Netflix

This is a sequel to the original “Vikings”. Basically, if you loved the raw and action-packed series before. This is a must watch. It has the characters, the story at the brink of everything dangerous and not for the faint of heart. This is a world, a Vikings domain. Brutal and raw to the core. It’s like being teleported after 100 years has past and now the story ramps up better than ever. This can easily satisfy the love for some gore, a history buff, and I am pretty sure it’ll captivate the action-thrill seeker folks. This is just getting started with Season 1 – You don’t want to miss the clash for the ultimate quest for revenge.

Top Pick: #4

Grace and Frankie

Starring: Jane Fonda, Lily Tomlin, Martin Sheen – Netflix Series – Credit: Netflix

A story about love and coming clean. About not being a fraud with one’s life. It’s a strong portrayal of the important things in life that sometimes can’t be farther from the truth. Emotional investment and marriage, and life’s coming out. About falling off the deep end and finding strength in oneself. And the fact that the statement, “I’m heartbroken”, sets the stage for the rest of the mish mash of human existence and its struggle through hardship, emptiness, old age, and finding happiness – and most of all not doing it alone. It’s a heartfelt portrayal of friendship, and the lack there of. Relationships, and how deeply emotional and complex life and love can be.

If you are looking for something different to watch this is for you. It’s a cleaver portrayal with good characters, that’s key to making this show work. This is definitely something different in storyline. This isn’t a comedy of life; it makes you think, and in a good way too.

Rotten Tomato Rating: 3.2/5

Top Pick: #5

Locke & Key

Starring:Darby Stanchfield, Connor Jessup, Emilia Jones – Credit: Netflix

This is an older teen series that feels like a novel as you are brought to a castle like mansion of mystery. Adults and teens alike will love to watch this. It’s packed with plot, twists, mystery, and best of all magic.

The story draws you in with the three siblings (Tyler, Kinsey, and Bode) thrown into a big move away from what they knew in the city of Seattle, in hopes of leaving a tragic past behind. That much mystery stuffed away in the past, well, surprise, it doesn’t stay away for long – rather whispers to those that can listen from a “well lady” will send shivers up your spine.

This series has a way of calling out to you at every turn. It’s this can’t breathe series that finding a “key” brings about in this show. You literally cannot wait to see what’s going to come out of a twist of a key. Unleashing, using magic, and having real powers in the palm of your hands.

Rotten Tomato Rating: 3.4/5
